yag laser kapsoulotomi

Yag Laser Posterior Capsulotomy is used for treatment of a secondary form of cataracts. After having cataract surgery, it is possible that after a period of time (months or years) patience can experience some form of anomaly in their vision, eg blurring of their vision. This can be due to the development of a cloudy lens capsule, which supports the lens implant. Another term for this condition is posterior capsular opacification (PCO). Up to 50% of cataract patients experience PCO.

It is during these circumstances when Yag Laser Posterior Capsulotomy is needed. During this procedure, a laser beam makes a small opening in the clouded capsule to allow light through. The outpatient procedure is painless, easy and fast, usually taking no longer than five minutes.
